Well, tonight was the first performance. Everyone did an amazing job!! With Logan and I being the only two people backstage, it was a challenge to get all of the scene changes completely done and the lights and everything right, but we pulled it off!!
Tomorrow, there will be another performance @ 1:00 pm (webb auditorium). You should really try to be there, because it's absolutely fantastic!!
Kate, Canon, Brandon, Erika, Sam, Paris, Alexa, Sarah, Riley, Evan, Lily, Danielle, Lawrence, and David- GREAT JOB!!! YOU PEOPLE ARE AMAZING!!!
During the show, there were only a few problems. And there was one that wasn't even our fault!! A lady walked in and opened up the huge utility door in the middle of the show. I was almost pulling my hair out when I heard that thing go up! It was so loud and it let in tons of light! Have they no respect for our work?? It worked out to where I closed while they were in the invention room... so it almost sounded like it should have happened.
The only other problem actually turned into a laugh! During the scene when they were in the nut room, Logan and I were tossing the squirrels- really multiple brown beanie baibes- back and forth so that they flew across the opening and made it look cool- and funny. Well, during one of the switches, our animals collided in mid air and plopped to the ground. Ha ha we got a laugh out of that!!!
Also, Michael Jackson died today. Though he was most recently known for being a creepy cross-race child predator, Michael Jackson actually was on top of the world of pop about 25 years ago. I like the songs he did with his brothers as the Jackson 5. He had a really rough childhood- his dad would beat him and his brothers until they sang and all of the kids watched as their father also beat their mother. So before he became a freaky guy, MJ made an impact in the world of music. I'm not going to say I'm glad he's dead like most people do... because it's weird that he's not around anymore. And he had a tour sold out and planned for the fall. I can't wait to see the stampede of people trying to get their money back!! Anyway, here's an excerpt from the article I saw on Yahoo!-
"As years went by, he became an increasingly freakish figure — a middle-aged man-child weirdly out of touch with grownup life. His skin became lighter, his nose narrower, and he spoke in a breathy, girlish voice. He surrounded himself with children at his Neverland ranch, often wore a germ mask while traveling and kept a pet chimpanzee named Bubbles as one of his closest companions."
